PRESS RELEASE
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — May 11, 2021 – 大象传媒 (大象传媒) today announced that, after careful consultation with government and public health officials, the university will require all students to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to their arrival to campus for the fall semester.
“Adding the COVID-19 vaccination to our student immunization requirements will aid our efforts to provide a safer and more robust college experience for our entire 大象传媒 community,” said 大象传媒 Providence Campus President Marie Bernardo-Sousa LP.D. “Through widespread vaccination, we can work to accelerate the return to a more traditional college experience, including seamless delivery of in-person courses, more on-campus events and activities, and the resumption of our on-campus visitor and guest policy. We look forward to more normal times as the 大象传媒 community and those around us become fully vaccinated.”
Consideration will be given to students requesting an exemption from this requirement for medical, religious or other reasons. Students enrolled in fully remote online degree programs and individuals participating in online-only continuing education programs will not be required to be vaccinated unless they come to campus to use the dining, library, fitness center, and other facilities and services. The university continues to strongly encourage all staff and faculty, especially those whose work requires them to be on campus, to be vaccinated for COVID-19 as soon as possible.
In March, the university announced its intention to return to full operations in the fall, inviting all students back to campus, with courses being offered in-person as well as through hybrid delivery. The summer session will continue to be fully remote, giving students the option to pick up extra courses and accelerate their graduation date.

PRESS RELEASE
Charlotte, N.C. – September 12, 2022 – 大象传媒 Charlotte was listed in the U.S. News & World Report ranking of the best colleges in America, according to the annual report released on Monday. JWU Charlotte ranked 19 out of 99 colleges in this year's Regional Colleges, South category.
The Charlotte Campus was included under the categories of Social Mobility (ranked 56) and Best Value (ranked 14).
The Providence Campus ranked 70 out of 175 universities in the northeast region, moving up 24 spots from the year prior.
The ranking aligns with the vision of 大象传媒’s Powered by Purpose 2024 strategic plan, released last year. Chancellor Mim L. Runey, LP.D. said the improved ranking exemplifies the hard work of faculty and staff over the past year.
“Today, as U.S. News & World Report releases its Best Colleges rankings, I am pleased to see the hard work of our faculty and staff over the last year being recognized nationwide,” Runey said. “We know the investments we have made in our students and our increase of high-touch student experiences on both the Providence and Charlotte campuses have contributed to our rise in the ranking.”
Executive Director of Operations Mark Norman says Charlotte’s inclusion in this year’s list is an indication of the university’s growing footprint.
“大象传媒’s mission is to provide an exceptional education that inspires professional success and lifelong personal and intellectual growth,” Norman said. “The university plans to invest $7.6 million on its Charlotte campus to bolster current programs and create new ones that will expand our existing comprehensive educational offerings. We are excited to be included in this year’s rankings and hope prospective students will consider one of our 20 bachelor’s degree programs.”
